REMOVE EFFICIENTLY DRY METAL CHIPS

CASE STUDY - EFFICIENTLY HANDLING DRY METAL CHIPS

A major tractor manufacturer faces a critical need in the final stage of producing its metal components: cleaning steel gearbox blocks of dry metal chips.

Your need, our solution

During machining, metal chips build up on parts, affecting both quality and efficiency. Steel or cast iron gearbox blocks must be thoroughly cleaned to remove leftover chips before the next assembly steps.

Quick and efficient cleaning of these components is crucial to:

  • Avoid damage: Residual metal shavings can damage the most delicate components;
  • Prevent blockages: Chip buildup can clog machinery;
  • Ensure production continuity: Fast and effective chip removal is essential to keep production running smoothly.

To address this need, we implemented a complete solution integrated with every CNC machine in the plant. Dry chips are collected and discharged directly into the CNC’s collection system, simplifying operations and reducing downtime.

our stationary industrial vacuums for dry chips collection

To meet the need to clean dry chips from tractor gearbox blocks after machining on CNC machines, we installed four HF 300s, one for each CNC.

These powerful 3-phase stationary vacuum cleaners are designed to clean the entire surface of each gearbox block in less than 2 minutes.

Our HF 300s can handle fine, dry metal chips without clogging or losing suction power, ensuring consistent performance even under intensive working conditions.

The balanced flap ensures efficient discharge of material, directly into the collection system of the CNC machine.

When the suction stops, the flap opens allowing the chips to fall out.

This mechanism eliminates the need for manual chip handling and reduces downtime. All this allows the system to operate continuously and without interruption and handle significant volumes of chips.

DISCOVER OUR INSTALLATION - HF 300

The vacuum cleaner chosen for this installation is the powerful three-phase HF 300 stationary system, which is ideal for collecting swarf, chips, dust and other solids on a fixed location. A powerful side-channel blower located on the vacuum’s head allows for excellent performance even with several meters of piping. A Class M category filter (filtration efficiency down to 1 micron) and a handy filter shaker are provided as standard.

  • POWER: 4,8 HP
  • FILTERING SURFACE: 3,720 IN2
