The BL 20 JC ATEX vacuum is a compact brushless industrial vacuum designed for fine dry dust, powder cleanup, and combustible dust housekeeping where the vacuum must be matched to the material, work area, and facility safety requirements.
Its 1.5 HP brushless motor provides strong suction in a small mobile footprint, making it a good fit for maintenance teams, EHS teams, production areas, laboratories, and compact processing spaces that need a portable explosion-proof vacuum instead of a larger three-phase system. The brushless motor design supports continuous operation and helps reduce maintenance compared with carbon-brush motor designs.
For filtration, the BL 20 JC ATEX uses a large M-Class antistatic cartridge filter with 5,270 in² of filter surface area. This helps capture fine dust down to 1 micron while supporting airflow as the filter loads. The JetClean® filter cleaning system lets operators clean the filter with a reverse air pulse without stopping the vacuum, helping maintain suction during routine cleanup.
Collected material drops into a detachable 5-gal AISI 304 stainless steel bin. The unit is built with grounded components and can be configured with an optional H14 HEPA absolute filter for applications that require higher-efficiency final filtration.
Typical applications include combustible dust housekeeping, fine powder cleanup, plastic dust, carbon dust, food powder, pharmaceutical powder, graphite, additive manufacturing powder, and other dry industrial dusts. Vacuum selection should always be confirmed against the SDS, dust hazard analysis, material characteristics, and area classification before use.
The suction mechanism of this vacuum cleaner utilizes a high-powered brushless motor, designed to operate continuously. The motor head incorporates two filters: one that safeguards the motor itself and another placed on the air outlet. Notably, the expelled air is completely free of carbon emissions.
Filtration is effectively provided by a robust polyester filtering cartridge. The cartridge is specifically designed to offer a substantial filter surface area of approximately 5,280 in2 within a compact form factor. This design allows for uninterrupted airflow, even when the filter becomes dirty. The filter is certified as M Class (BIA | EN 60335-2-69), ensuring efficient capture of particles down to 1 micron in size, thereby safeguarding both the motors and the operator.
To prevent any potential sparks resulting from electrostatic charge, the collected material is stored in a container crafted from AISI 304 stainless steel. This choice of material ensures a spark-free environment during the storage process. Additionally, facilitated by four robust pivoting wheels, the container can be effortlessly maneuvered, enabling easy disposal of the accumulated material.
The vacuum cleaner features a state-of-the-art filter cleaning system called JetClean®, developed by Depureco. This innovative system harnesses the pressure differential between the interior and exterior of the vacuum cleaner to generate a powerful air jet. As the air jet passes through the cartridge, it effectively dislodges dust particles from the surface of the filter. This process ensures a rapid and efficient cleaning of the filter during operation, eliminating the need to interrupt the vacuuming process.
