This dairy cream vacuum test was run for an ice cream manufacturer that needed to evaluate cleanup of heavy dairy cream in a production facility. Depureco Labs tested the material with a RAM OIL 200 MP, also referred to as the RAM 200, using a separator collection bin upstream of the vacuum to help protect the pump and collect the cream before it reached the unit.
Dairy Cream Vacuum Test Setup
The test setup included a 50 mm antistatic hose, an S-pipe with a PRO floor tool fitted with squeegee strips, a straight antistatic flat pipe, and a separator / cyclone interceptor positioned before the RAM 200.
The thinner dairy liquid and more fluid cream moved through the setup easily. The heavier, thicker cream behaved differently. As the viscosity increased, the selected hose and separator configuration struggled, and the separator TAN / tangential inlet clogged during pickup.
What This Heavy Cream Test Showed
This was not a perfect pass, but it was a useful result. Heavy cream does not behave like water, coolant, or normal wet cleanup material. Viscosity, hose diameter, inlet geometry, separator design, pickup distance, and collection method all affect whether the system can keep material moving.
